a little about us.
Robin Long | I started photography 6 years ago, starting in commercial work, photographing children’s clothing with various independent clothing designers. I worked with them to provide high quality professional photos to sell their designs. From there grew my love for photography. I also started a photo card business at that time, which I still have and design for today. Thus began my love for photoshop. I’m a self taught photographer/designer mostly learning from books, tutorials, online photography courses, and in-person workshops.
I don’t take full credit from the knowledge I have gained, as there have been many people that have taught me along the way and there will be many more as I continue to grow and learn in the photography world. I have learned from many Professional photographers personally, and attended seminars at WPPI, After Dark Education and participated in Online courses consisting of Better Photo and MLK Studios. I actively continue reading and attending workshops and seminars every year to keep my mind fresh & learning new techniques. Through the teachings of several great photographers, I have created and defined my own style that has lead me to where I am today.
I now run and operate a successful studio in Salem, Oregon where I specialize in maternity, newborns and babies. I use a combination of natural light for my newborns, and studio lighting for maternity. I absolutely LOVE my job. I couldn't see myself doing anything else and strive to bring out the purity of the newborn baby.
I am a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP), where I recently received two National Image Awards in the 2010 Inaugural Image Competition.

Keri Meyers | I started photography 5 years ago, but got serious about my business in the Fall of 2008. Like so many others, my love of photography was inspired by my children. When my first son was born in 2007 I was a grade school teacher. I soon realized that I wanted to do something that allowed for more flexible hours and time home with my family. My second son arrived just 14 months after my first. With two young boys it was important for me to be home with my children during their early years.
Like Robin, I am self-taught. I was eager to learn and spent many hours reading books, researching online, surfing flickr and watching tutorials on youtube. With a lot of patience and even more practice I quickly began to feel confident enough to start my own business in the Fall of 2008. After working with children for so many years I knew that is where I wanted to focus my work. I love capturing the innocence and purity of newborns and children. I was fortunate to have several friends and family expecting their first child in the early stages of my business. This sparked my interest in newborn photography. After photographing a few newborns I had found my passion.
In just two short years my business expanded greatly. I am now a full-time newborn, children’s and family photographer. I have a small natural light studio next to my home built especially for newborns as 90% of my clientele come to me for my newborn work. I still pinch myself because I feel so lucky to be doing something that I absolutely love. This is truly the best job. I am so grateful to be doing this and sharing what I have learned along the way with you.
In 2010 I was voted Western Washington's Best Portrait Photographer in King 5's Best of Western Washington Contest. I am aslo a proud member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP).
